When a single color is used as a concept of a house, then usually it will be combined with other colors that still have the same atmosphere. However, in a residence in Australia that takes white as the concept, we will only find white color. The homeowner might use different materials in the house like glass, stainless steel, rugs and many others, but the all come in white. Outside and inside the house, we will only see white color.

This house is located in Japan and was designed by Kanagawa base architecture no.555. The house divided into two main buildings with white paint in elongated box shape. In the middle, which divides the two sides of the house, there is a miniature golf course, …this is the most interesting feature of this house. Moreover on either side of the golf course placed a big glass wall, we think this glass wall is intended to give open effect to the environment as well as to supervise kids when playing golf. Modern home is usually identical with arrogant and cold home. However, as we all know, being modern does not have to be so cold. Modern style is actually very flexible due to its simplicity. It can be combined with feminine, young, casual style and many others. One of the examples of the best blend is the blend between modern style and the beauty of the nature. It can be seen on a bungalow that is designed by MCK Architecture.

If you are a water ski enthusiasts, then this one house you must make an inspiration, a house in Florida. With an area of 3.100 feet, the house was built for families who really likes to water ski. Landscape is agricultural land which is then modified into an artificial lake that will be used for water ski. This house was designed by Hughes Umbanhowar Architects, according to the architects the house conceptually and literally broken into 3 use defined areas; i.e. guest wing, public/fraternal spaces, master bedroom. The roof design also provides shade to the lakeside terrace adjacent to the lap pool, while simultaneously capturing and directing the water-cooled breezes through the upper transom windows of the living space. This “free” and passive conditioning reduces the use of mechanically driven conditioning. Overall design of this house in our opinion is prepared for the holidays or just relax for a moment to forget all the urban activities. This house called Ski House H2o.

Changing a simple home to be an art events center is not an easy thing. However, the warm atmosphere of a home is actually a great capital to create a comfortable art events center. This is what the architect is going to do, turning the Nakajono-machi, Guma Prefecture, Hirozakari Sake Brewery into a facility for various events. Nakajono-machi is an active participant in various art and culture events like Nakajono Biennale. Hirozakari Sake Brewery is actually has been quite familiar with art and culture event, but some redesigning is needed to make it more appropriate for art and culture events.

For the redesigning plan, a special space to store and show 11 birds hunting drums will be served. The art is made as the representative of folk properties. Not only that, a redesigning of the washroom and warehouse will be done as well. A demolishing was even done to give the perfect construction on the building; the parts that are kept are warehouse, storage room and office building. The concept of the design is changing the atmosphere of the Hirozakari Sake Brewery into well-organized building for exhibition that can be so completely different from the original atmosphere.

Some creativity is needed in the reconstruction. One of the examples is the new exhibition room that has no opening. To take the drums in, the architect decided to build a tunnel and forget the old way of creating opening. Glass screen, stainless steel and some other materials are used in this tunnel. Some original touches of the old room are kept like the concrete floor that makes the exhibition room unique. It will lead the artists to be more creative than before. A unique thing can be seen on the washroom. In the toilet, the designer put a mirror, so when we are sitting on the toilet, we can see our reflection. Some mirror panels are put in surprising places. For the exterior, most of the area is covered with lawn.

The lawn is serving multiple advantages. It gives more comfortable atmosphere, friendly environment and cooler temperature. To see some surprises, we can go to ArchDaily.com or visit the location. Hirozakari Sake Brewery site has been used as the center for art events: The 3th Nakanojo Biennale (Augst.20 2011 – October.2 2011). Designed by Kunihiko Matsuba, Ksuke Fukushima.
